Create and Manage Traffic Flows

The Traffic Flow feature allows you to overlay directional arrows on a Map to show a specific route for vehicles to follow. You can customize the color of your Traffic Flow and include Additional information to be shared with collaborators and reviewers in the Plan's PDF worksheet.

In this article, we will explain:

  • How to add a Traffic Flow to your Plan
  • How to edit a Traffic Flow
  • How to delete a Traffic Flow

ADD A TRAFFIC FLOW TO YOUR PLAN

To add a Traffic Flow to your Plan, navigate to your desired Plan and click the Master View menu near the upper-right corner of the screen to expand it, then click the Traffic Flow menu item (Fig. 1) under the Maps section.

The Traffic Flow menu will then be displayed (Fig. 2).

Click the Create Traffic Flow menu item and an empty Traffic Flow will be displayed. The first default name will be TRF1 (Fig. 3.).

Click the name of the Traffic Flow in the menu and it will expand to show the editing options (Fig. 4).

Click the Edit Line link (included in Fig. 4, above), then click on the location within the Map (Fig. 5) where the Traffic Flow line should begin. Each subsequent click on the map will add a point and extend your Traffic Flow line. To move an existing point, click + hold on it to move it to the new location, then release the button. To remove a point, right-click or option-click it.

When your Traffic Flow is complete, click the Save Line link in the Traffic Flow menu (Fig 6).

After editing, the Traffic Flow handles will no longer be displayed (Fig 7).

EDIT A TRAFFIC FLOW

To edit an existing Traffic Flow line, click its name in the Traffic Flow menu (Fig. 8) and the Edit Traffic Flow screen will be displayed (Fig. 9).

Enter a Location Description, edit the Color, and enter Additional Information. Click Save when done.



DELETE A TRAFFIC FLOW

To delete an existing Traffic Flow line, click its name in the Traffic Flow menu (Fig. 8, above) and the Edit Traffic Flow screen will be displayed (Fig. 9, above).

Click the Delete button near the bottom right and confirm deletion.
